General Information

What is CBD?

CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of over 85 cannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD is present in more significant quantities in hemp than it is in marijuana. And because it’s non-psychoactive, CBD is widely regarded to possess incredible health potential.

Do your products have THC in them?

No. All of our CBD products are guaranteed to contain 0% THC. To view the potency of our CBD, you can see the results of our third-party lab tests by requesting one pertaining to your specific batch of CBD. To do so, please contact us at Info@freed.co.

What Makes Freed's Products Different?

Freed’s Broad Spectrum, THC-Free (0.0%) CBD oil is purified through a process called liquid chromatography. How does that differ compared to CBD distillate products? View our infographic below for more information.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

Freed maintains the truest of essences derived from our proprietary genetics and preserved as Trade Secrets in our Broad Spectrum oil and finished products. Our proprietary chromatographic purification process selectively removes Delta 9-THC and other undesirable impurities from our Full Spectrum hemp extract and purified oils.

Our proprietary processes do not expose the extracted products to high temperature or adverse conditions as with other manufacturers’ fractional distillation processes. Our latest methodologies preserve the plant’s terpene profile, eliminating potential degradation of cannabinoids and mitigating potential oxidation of other botanical compounds.

Will Freed's products get me high?

Freed’s CBD products will not get you high. The rich blend of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, sterols and flavonoids contained within our latest Broad Spectrum oil provides greater synergistic reactions, known to some as the Entourage Effect, only without the psychoactive component of the hemp plant, THC.

Do your products have THC in them?

Freed’s products have 0% THC, guaranteed. Our products do not contain any THC and you can view the potency of our CBD by checking third-party lab test results. You can request these results by emailing info@freed.co.

Our chromatographic purification process has been able to selectively remove the only psychoactive component, Delta 9-THC, from the Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) hemp oil. The absence of detectable THC is confirmed through High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments. Since our purification process is able to selectively remove Delta 9-THC, while leaving intact the other synergistic components of the oil, the resulting hemp extracts is non-psychoactive while still delivering the entourage effect for biological activity and efficacy.

Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD?

Drug testing is largely dependent on the test standards of the lab administering your drug test. Most companies will generally search for the cannabinoid THC, which is the main psychoactive component of marijuana. Freed’s products are THC free, but some testing facilities will check for a spectrum of cannabinoids, which could result in a positive drug test.

By law, you are allowed to ask the lab what cannabinoids it is testing for. If you are uncomfortable with asking, you can call and ask anonymously. We highly recommend contacting the lab if you have any concerns.

What is the difference between supercritical hemp oil vs. ethanol extracted hemp oil?

Freed produces Phytocannabinoid-Rich Hemp Oil by two separate processes. The first process utilizes supercritical CO2 to produce an extract rich in terpenes, Cannabidiol (CBD), and other phytocannabinoids. This extract is further subjected to winterization in ethanol and solvent removal through vacuum distillation. After the chlorophyll, waxes, and THC are removed, the resulting product is a PCR hemp oil with 70-90% CBD, minor cannabinoids, and terpenes.

The second solvent-extraction process utilizes ethanol for extraction, followed by the same purification processes as the first, to remove chlorophyll, waxes, and THC. The only difference between the two processes is that the first step, extraction, utilizes different solvents; CO2 and ethanol, respectively.

Irrespective of the process, the critical attributes of the oil (CBD %, terpenes, minor cannabinoids) remain the same. Since the extract from both processes undergo the same set of purification steps, the resulting hemp oil attributes remain comparable and similar from the two approaches.

Freed uses both types of oils to fulfill orders, as they are comparable and interchangeable. The resulting products possess the same level of quality and consistency. The PCR hemp oils are the same irrespective of the extraction solvents as the manufacturing is designed to arrive at the same quality attributes that are critical to our customers.
